What Asma Siddiqui would want for her birthday this year 2014!



Finally the birthday wishlist 2014….

Like I mentioned earlier, this year I don’t have anything particular in mind that I really really want for my birthday; which is a first! Normally I have a list ready in my head way before the start of the year and this time I’m so late.

My belief is if you can gift me something totally surprising then go ahead blow my mind else just check my list and get me something that I want at this time. I’m sure most of you have heard/read this year I’d like bags but ABSOLUTELY NOT. Bags are the last thing that I need right now so if you find nothing else to give me yea then go ahead and gift me a bag. But then be prepared for me being not so nice to you for the rest year! :p

I don’t have a list of things that I want, this year its just a list of things that I’ve been thinking of buying for a long time but have been busy or lazy or both.


  •  Sunglasses – yeah I’ve been long thinking of getting them but… my expert says brown shades coz dark ones make me look nabeena

  •  Shoes – right no woman can have enough shoes, remember I have a crazy preferences coz shoes for me are a comfy tool for driving.
  • Sweatpants/ pajamas – my current ones are now full of holes that I need to discard asap only I need similar comfortable ones to replace.
  • Kitchen stuff – I may not cook but I love to eat and the crockery sections of supermarket now make my heart beat faster

  • Cadbury Bubbly – only coz I couldn’t get my hands on it for so long… and mind you if you decide to get it for me make it the stock for a few weeks. Ek do se mera kia hoga?

  • I just moved to a new office where my table could do with a few decorative personalized items I also have a cabinet the top of which is very empty

  • 2014 diary – that I could use to write notes to myself

I guess that’s it …. I know my list isn’t as awesome as me and all my previous lists but this year my happiness won’t come from things this year it’s about experiences.

Sister at Distance

It’s sad to lose your sister to distance; for a person who stays by you day and night, gets married and moves away and then all you are left with is a void. A void that no one else can fill, there are times when you want to share the tiniest of things with her and she’s not around. The only thing that keeps you connected is Whatsapp and Facebook and Instagram. When through social media you are able to keep tabs on her, you know what’s happening in her life, although you want to be part of everything that happens in her life you realize that that’s never going to happen and you just have to distance yourself from her, because her priorities in life have changed, she’s got another family to take care of and your own urgencies can wait. You will continue to be a part of her life that has taken a cyclone turn and although you’re glad you’re not part of the whirlpool, you’re a sidelined spectator watching her from a distance. Cafe Mist & Gelato Affairs

2012 is one of those years for me when I want to be very socially active.   Mind you I’m not usually this active every year. The year before Last i.e. 2010 I didn’t want to see a human face. I have the ability to hibernate on yearly basis from social life, for various reasons. So this year I decided to have a reunion of the old office where I worked. Now there I worked with more than 100 people over the course of 5 years, obviously I made some really good friends and some people I just outright hate, I’m sure they know who they are.
